JW Jones is an Ottawa based blues guitar player and singer. I first met JW when he played at a festival I was shooting in 2017, has it really been that long? He is a student of the blues and is always a pleasure to listen to. He takes his inspiration from the greats and has had the opportunity to meet and play with some of them too.He was on the bill at Limestone City Blues Festival this year twice. Once with his full time band and another time with HOROJO Trio, a side project made up of JW on Guitar, Jamie Holmes on drums and Jeff Rogers playing keyboard and singing lead. I’ll post a few from that set on a future entry. Below is a few from the JW Jones set on Friday, August 26th.

The Limestone City Blues Festival has long been a favourite of mine. Not only because it’s local for me, but it is also a great festival. Over the years, they have brought us some of the greatest names in blues music and this year was no exception. This was their 25th Anniversary edition and I have the shirt too. The festival takes place each year on the last weekend of August and I look forward to it all summer. This year, the main stage saw two great shows, not to mention Confederation Park stage and all the local bars featuring the greatest music in the world!
