100, a number that I didn't really think about getting to, but here I am. This image is a shot from last May over Port Hood Island. I like to follow storms when I see them developing, it's interesting and you can often get a great photograph by doing so. This day, I had watched a couple of potential sloud banks but the other one didn't really materialize the way I had hoped. Those who know me know that I hate those clear blue skies that so many people hope for. Clear skies are boring, they contribute nothing to the picture. We learn early on in composition, if something doesn't help the image, it hurts it and I think those "beautiful, clear skies are terrible for getting interesting images.

It seems that finally summer has arrived. It was a long time coming this year, our spring was pretty cold and the snow and ice held on a bit too long, especially for the people out in Newfoundland. Summer, for me, means festival season is set to begin. I have already had a fairly busy year to date shooting concerts, but I have four festivals set starting with Festival Country de Lotbiniere on June 15 and 16. Before going to St. Agapit for the festival, I will finally have a few days to do some landscape photography! I am even more excited for that. I just seem to have such a hard tie setting aside a little time for pleasure shooting, I intend to try as hard as I can to get back to it as much as possible. Here is an image I made in Nova Scotia last September at a beach I like to go to. A simple long exposure in the surf, but I love it.

This year's lineups for the summer festivals are pretty much out now. My favorite things to shoot as far as music is concerned. They are much more relaxed as far as restrictions are concerned and it's just about having a good time. Instead of our normal two or three song limit, we usually have full access for the whole show! Over the years, I have met some great people, both artists and photographers and I'm happy to say that many of them have become friends. Recently it was announced that Joe Louis Walker is headlining at Calabogie Blues and Ribfest in August. I had the pleasure of photographing Joe at Limestone City Bluesfest three years ago and what a show! I am looking very forward to hearing hime play again this summer.

I keep saying to myself that I am going to get out and shoot some landscape stuff, but I never seem to get it done. The winter was so cold and work got in the way, there always seems to be a logical explanation why I don't get out. My only shooting for quite some time is my concerts. This image is one I got of The Hunter Brothers when the opened for High Valley here in Kingston. I like the photo because of the mood, everyone was just acting like they were having a good time.

It's been too long since I've posted again. Life too often gets in the way and it gets away from you. I've also been pretty busy shooting concerts recently and will post some stuff from my adventures shortly. Lately I have been spending some time going through older images, ones that might be more then first thought. As time goes by, you pick up more processing skills, or maybe software will progress and an image that at first wasn't useful to you might become something you can use. This image was made in Sedona, Arizona. I was waiting patiently for a particular place to light up as the setting sun poked through the clouds, but all of a sudden these mountains lit up first. Totally unexpected, but I'll take it.
